IceLayer 2.0™ vs Ordinary Cooling Mats
Cooling mats mostly split into two camps — gel and water. Both have real problems, and both are what your dog is refusing to lie on. Here's the difference.

FAQ's
Why does my dog keep sleeping on the floor instead of their bed?
Because the floor is doing a job their bed can't. Dogs shed most of their heat by panting and by pressing their belly and paws against something cooler than they are — tile, hardwood, the spot by the back door. A padded bed traps heat instead of pulling it away, so on warm days they abandon it.
The IceLayer 2.0 is built to be the cool surface they're already looking for, with enough softness that they'll actually stay asleep on it.
How does it cool with no gel, water, or electricity?
Through the fabric itself. The top face is a Chill-Cool fibre weave rated Q-Max above 0.4 — that's the standard measure of how quickly a material draws heat from skin on contact, and anything above 0.4 registers as noticeably cool to the touch.
There's nothing to freeze, fill, plug in, or recharge. Unroll it and it works. It performs best indoors or in shade with air moving over it, so a room with a fan or AC running gets the most out of it.
Will my dog actually use it? Ours ignored the last one.
That's the most common reason people buy a second cooling mat, and it's usually a texture problem rather than a cooling problem. Gel mats feel stiff and plasticky underfoot, so dogs step on, decide it's unpleasant, and never come back.
This is fabric over padding, so it feels closer to a bed than a plastic sheet. Most dogs settle on it within a day or two. If yours won't touch it after two weeks, that's exactly what the 90-night trial covers.
Which size should I get?
Measure your dog nose to base of tail while they're lying stretched out, then add four to six inches. Dogs sprawl when they're hot — a mat they hang off the edge of gets used half as much.
If they sleep in a crate, measure the crate floor instead and size down to fit inside it. When you're between two sizes, go up.
How do I clean it?
Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water, then air dry or tumble dry on low. No special detergent needed, and the cooling performance holds through repeated washes.
This is a real difference from gel mats, which can only be wiped down with a damp cloth. For anything a dog sleeps on through summer, that matters more than it sounds.
